I’m looking to organise a club trip to the Lake District in early November 1st to 4th.
Keswick will be our base camp, allowing us to explore the surrounding areas, where there are a lot of photography opportunities: I’m in the process of putting together a schedule to make the best use of the time we are there.
Looking back at my previous autumn shots, early November seems to be when the autumn colours are at their most dramatic. I also checked the Kew website and their autumn events are scheduled around this time.
I’m looking at the weekend of 1st-4th, I’m planning to be there from Thursday to Monday (4 nights), I realise this may not work for everyone, but please feel free to join later or leave earlier depending on what works for you.
I have not stayed at any of the hotels in Keswick, so can’t bring any recommendations. At this point in time we are exploring the Premier Inn hotel, if there are other’s that others want to recommend please add in your comments, while it makes it more enjoyable to all be under one roof people are free to make their own arrangements.

Graham and I are interested in coming to the Lakes.
As we are going to the Falklands on 7th November we may go up a day or so earlier and come home on the Sunday.

I’ve yet to finalise the schedule, however I thought it worth sharing at this point. I have gone for 3 destinations for each day. Early morning shoot for the early risers, the second will start after breakfast, taking us up to lunch. We will then embark on the third after lunch to sunset. I hope this meets your expectations.

Hi everyone, I will be joining the trip from Friday to Monday. I’ll be staying at the Premier Inn in Cockermouth as prices in Keswick seem to have risen a lot – but it’s only a 20min drive away so hope we can all meet up at the photography locations as normal.
I’ll be driving up and happy to offer a lift to anyone who needs one, please let me know. Bearing in mind the length of the journey I plan to be leaving very early on Friday morning to avoid the worst of the traffic.
