ParticipantThe annual Societies of Photographers (the Societies) convention and trade show is due to take place at the Hammersmith Novotel between March 15th and 18th 2023.
See https://swpp.co.uk/newsletter/thesocieties2023convention.htm.
Whilst the Convention, which starts on Wednesday 15th, is largely aimed at professionals, all photographers from professionals to enthusiasts can attend, including the various Masterclasses through which 150 hours of events have been arranged. These classes offer the chance to be inspired by some of the world’s best photographers, but they are costly to attend.
HOWEVER, the Trade Show, which takes place over a three day period from Thursday 16th to Saturday 18th March, is FREE to everyone who takes the trouble to REGISTER BEFORE FEBRUARY 28th. Otherwise the entrance fee is £10. The trade show will feature the great and the good of the photographic industry, with major manufacturers showing off their latest products. Many of the 100 or so exhibitors will also be offering special offers on their products and services, exclusive to the show, with Park Cameras and Camera Centre UK being the main supporting dealers. So if you’re thinking of treating yourself to some shiny new kit, then you may be able to bag yourself a bargain at the show.
The Trade Show Opening times are :
Thursday 16th March 2023 – 10:00–17:00
Friday 17th March 2023 – 10:00–17:00
Saturday 18th March 2023 – 10:00–16:00If any other members are interested in making an outing of this event, please would you reply to this thread. I shall be going on Friday March 17th if you’d like to join me there.
Whilst I think food is available in the hotel bars etc, there are plenty of alternative food outlets nearby in and around Hammersmith Broadway, should you want to have a spot of lunch either before or after visiting the show. The hotel is adjacent to Hamersmith Broadway Tube station (on the District and Piccadilly lines), so very easy to get to.
